About The Book

UNREQUITED LOVES AND OTHER FRENCH KISSES
     By Cara Nusinov

This is a book of friendship and love, about men and women, both humorous,
imaginative, and thoughts that needed to be expressed.  I have been told that
people see themselves in many of the poems.  I am not sure if this is wishful
thinking or universality.

Not all these poems are true, or autobiographical, though all
flowed through my imagination as a writer—they are fragments
of wishful thinking, coming-of-age, then middle-age experiences,
stories of broken hearts or laughter, overheard bits from my
bench-sitting in Central Park, Trafagar Square and other locations
through the years.

Some are whispered conversations, accumulated through the
years and culled with sincerity. This little collection was trimmed
from seventy-two poems and those seventy-two from several hundred.

The cover is a photo I captured in The Fingerlakes. When I saw the
long road and a tree-tunnel, which had an illusion of never-ending,
it reminded me of a road of relationships and I could see words or
poetry in all of the tree trunks. Thus, the imagination of creative
artists. And that is how the cover art came about.
